NUREMBERG

This morning we enjoyed a city tour of Nuremberg, the 2nd most bombed German city in WWII.
We visited the Nazi rally grounds, passed by the SS barracks and the Documentation Centre. Very interesting morning. We then passed thru into the old town of Nuremburg, inside the walled city. What a beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon. We hit the market square right at noon, just in time for the clock at The Church of Our Lady, built in the mid 1300's to perform for us. The clock itself was installed in the 1500's, and has the Emporer of the Holy Roman Empire sitting, and various people pop out around him. There is a drummer boy, men that come out and bow to the Emporer, a bell ringer, and more.
We lunched on traditional bratwurst with sauerkraut and weiner schnitzel.....and beer of course.
All in all, a great day.
We are now back on the ship, listening to a great lecture on the European Union......stay tuned
