DOROTHY'S GOT A NEW PAIR OF SHOES!

Move over Ruby Slippers........First stop on Cape Breton Island today was The Red Shoe Pub in Mabou. This is owned by the Rankin sisters (of the musical Rankin Family of Mabou).

The Red Shoe ale was tasty...

I loved this on the wall in the pub....

Arriving in Mabou.

Also discovered the Glenora Distillery and took a short tour. A beautiful spot.

Good to the last drop! We sampled the Glen Breton Rare, so smooth......the distillery went through a few years of court dates, as the Scotch Whisky Assoc. took them to court for using the word Glen in their name, said it was misleading people into thinking it was from Scotland.....charges were finally dismissed.

Great scenic drive, the Cape Breton coast is beautifully rugged. Driving the Cabot Trail.

That's Tom in the car, soaking in the sun and scenery...

And here he is thinking he is a mountain goat.

We have just had another amazing seafood dinner in Baddeck and looking forward to exploring some more tomorrow.....stay tuned
