KAYMAKLI UNDERGROUND CITY

Another amazing sight, if you read the sign in the first picture, it explains why these underground cities were built. The one we went into was 8 stories underground, and we had to crouch down and almost crawl through the narrow, low passageways......only hit my head twice. The 2nd picture shows the round door that was rolled in front of the entrance to block access when under attack. They even had a winery!
