We started out at the market where our teacher explained the different fruits and vegetables commonly used in Thai cooking, and this was also where our ingredients were purchased.
This is loofa......
Here is a duck egg that has been buried underground for 100 days, then they dig it up, paint it pink, and eat it, yum! I didnt eat one, but I smelled it, and that in itself was an experience.
We made 4 dishes, starting with vegetable spring rolls. Let me just say, Tom proved today that he can cook very well. He can't however, roll a spring roll. We had a great laugh, but hey, they all taste the same....delicious.
We also made a yellow chicken curry,
Chicken stirfry,
We ate our creations for lunch, and left with a cookbook of all the recipes we made, plus more.We all thoroughly enjoyed it. I believe it is the first and last time I will see Tom in an apron.
Just had a nice break this afternoon by the pool, and now back up in the room to freshen up as we are going to Doi Suthep Temple to hear the chanting monks at sunset. How amazing is that?!?!
Stay tuned...
