Just spent a great afternoon in the town of Wurzburg, just wandering the streets and alleys. We met up with fellow travelers on the Alte Mainbrucke, the oldest bridge across the Main River. It was completed in 1543 and is lined with baroque statues of saints. It is a pedestrian bridge. We were able to buy a glass of wine from one of the wine stores...I chose the local Silvaner, and drink it on the bridge! How cool is that....so civilized. What a stunning view, the old Fortress Palace up on the hill, another castle in the distance, and the river boats below, and the quaint town streets beside us......pinch me! Stay tuned....
